'Dinosaur' Topic Launch!

Year F had an exciting launch to their 'Dinosaur' topic today! As well as seeing a photograph of a dinosaur visiting their classroom, they also discovered footprints leading to a letter and special surprise left by their visitor. After reading the letter, the class found out that they had the special job of caring for the dinosaur egg hidden in the nest. The children are waiting with anticipation and looking closely for any signs of the egg hatching!

As part of their topic, the class were introduced to balls of coloured ice. They investigated and discussed different methods to melt the ice to discover what was hidden inside. After the ice had melted, the class discovered small dinosaurs inside. The learning produced some interesting discussions on changes to states of matter.
