Lest We Forget

11th November 2018

We have been commemorating the centenary of the end of WW1 in school this week “Lest We Forget". In all the classes we have been finding out facts , painting images, reading information books and poems and thinking about our British Values of democracy, respect and rule of law. Each child has made a poppy that has been attached to our school railings so ‘We Will Remember Them’. We have also created a whole school Poppy Day display in the school hall- please come and have a look. On Friday we held a special assembly and held a minutes silence whilst we listened to the Last Post  and Mrs Furber read out all the names of the men who fought in WW1 from Launceston. One hundred men left but only six returned. “We Will Remember Them “. We also supported the Royal British Legion by purchasing poppies, wristbands and other poppy themed items. We will let you know how much we raised for this worthwhile cause once totalled.” Thankyou #100.
