Y5 Trip to Launceston Castle

17th September 2019

Year Five visited the ruins of the Priory and then Launceston Castle this week as part of their History study of Launceston, linked to our Community and Inheritance  theme for the Autumn term.  Originally built by the Normans as a Motte and Bailey castle, Year Five looked around the remains of the castle as well as looking at how you might attack or defend it.  We all went to the top of the keep!  We could see where the school is from there and had a local geography lesson about the shape of the land and why the castle was built where it was.
