Medical Enrichment Morning

On Wednesday 28th November, St.Stephens had some trainee doctors to visit from Plymouth University. In KS1, they provided a carousel of activities including a lung station and use of a peak flow device, a heart station where we listened to our hearts and felt our pulses, and a skeleton station where we discussed and explored the bones in our bodies. The children were amazed to discover that babies have a lot more bones than adults! The session finished with a trip to the teddy bear hospital, where the doctors kindly assessed the ailments of the stuffed animals, wrote up 'pawscriptions' and wrapped in bandages! The children loved the workshop and we hope they will visit us again!
