Sensory Exploration and Outdoor Learning

As part of our Lifeskills curriculum we dedicate two afternoons  a week entirely to Sensory Exploration and Outdoor Learning as part of our ongoing Therapies plan.

We aim to have lots of exciting activities based around exploring the outdoor area and learning about nature and the world around us. We have great fun come rain or shine and learn at our own unique level. We love getting out waterproofs and wellies on and splashing about in the rain as much as we love exploring the leaves, trees and natural materials in the sun.

We use Sensory Exploration to explore foods and processes when making foods providing us with key life skills at our own level. This can be having the important chance to touch, smell and feel different food items and textures or having the experience of mixing foods together to create an item to eat. We love exploring new food's we haven't ever been able to before, or maybe we haven't been brave enough! Every week is a new adventure and we get to engage at a level whereby we feel most comfortable and happy depending on our individual needs.
