Science investigations at Launceston College

Class 6 had a superb Science morning at Launceston College. We enjoyed working in the Science Labs and carrying out investigations into:
  1. Which household substances were acidic or alkaline using a control group to compare the mixtures against ( observing the chemical reaction),]
  2. Investigating which material would be the most effective in clearing up an oil spill- this linked to environmental science where we watched a video on the effect of an oil tanker spill on the environment in New Zealand.
Throughout the morning we applied our science skills of observation, prediction and evaluation.
