Wild Tribe Day with Arena

On the 14th July, Year 3 and 4 took part in a Wild Tribe Activity Day with Arena Sports.

Throughout the day, we completed three activities - Wild Maths, Wild Science and Wild Art.

Wild Maths allowed us to consolidate our shape learning by looking at the properties of 2D shapes. We then created out own dreamcatches using sticks, wire and natural resources that we found on our school site.
Wild Science explored the exciting themes of Fossils and Volcanoes. This linked fantastically with the Georgraphy and Science topics that the children have explored this year.
Finally, Wild Art explored the work of Andy Goldsworthy. In pairs, or small groups, the children had to design and create their own piece of art work. Each pair/group had to plan their piece of art work before forage for their materials. A true test of our relationships and leadership skills.
The activities tested our resilience, communication, creativity and planning and problem solving skills.

The day ended with toasting marshmallows over the fire - which was a fantastic opportunity to apply the skills that we learned at the Woodland  Skills Centre a few weeks ago.

A big thank you to Michelle and Debbie from Arena for planning such a fantastic day.

Here are a selection of photographs of the day.
