The Hurlers - Bronze Age

Today we visited the Hurlers as part of our History learning about the Bronze Age. We learnt about the stone circles and that some of the standing stones are no longer here but markers have been put in the place historians believe they would have been. We looked at a disc showing the night sky and learnt that about how people in ancient times would have used it to help them navigate.
We then went on an expedition to see if we could find where the Rillaton Cup had been discovered. It was made during the Bronze Age over 4000 years ago and linked to research we had completed at school.
After lunch we were able to take a photo of our favourite view, engine house or standing stone each using polaroid cameras which meant that we got to take our own photo home!
A massive thank you to The Cornwall Heritage Trust who not only led activities today at one of their historical sites but also provided a transport grant to enable us to visit The Hurlers.
