Fire station Visit - 3rd February 2026

Alongside Lewannick Primary School, Year F enjoyed an action‑packed visit to the fire station today as part of our People Who Help Us topic. We were shown how firefighters put on their protective gear—Miss Caines was especially surprised by just how heavy the equipment is! The crew explained the important role the fire service plays in emergencies and reminded us that we must dial 999 if we ever need their help.

We also learned about “Test It Tuesday,” a weekly reminder to check our smoke alarms at home to make sure they’re working properly. The firefighters taught us that keeping our bedroom doors shut at night can help keep us safe if a fire were to break out.

Next, we explored both fire engines and everyone had the chance to sit in the back of one—very exciting! Then came the highlight of the trip: we all got to spray the fire hose! Year F were true ‘Confident Communicators’, listening carefully, asking brilliant questions, and sharing thoughtful comments. What superstars!

A huge thank you to Launceston Fire Station for such a fun, educational, and memorable visit.
