Circus and Castles

Year 3 have plunged into a world of wonder as we began exploring the magic of the circus. The classroom buzzed with excitement as we tasted popcorn, imagined the sounds of the big top, and even stepped inside our very own circus tent. This immersive experience links beautifully to our new English text, Leon and the Place Between by Grahame Baker‑Smith, where Leon’s leap into a world of illusion and possibility has inspired us to think more deeply about performance, mystery, and storytelling. Carrying this sense of enchantment forward, we will soon be channelling our creativity into Design and Technology, where the children will begin designing and building their own castles. It’s a perfect progression from the spectacle of the circus to the grandeur of medieval architecture, and the children are already brimming with ideas about turrets, drawbridges, and secret rooms. We have finished building our castles!
