Oracy in action!

Oracy- Conversations that make a difference.

In Year 4, we have been practising and learning about oracy, using sentence stems to help structure our thoughts and reflect on out actions. Together, we took par in a meaningful conversation where we focused on respectful listening and clearly articulating our ideas. To help us see how our discussion connected, we used a piece of string- each time someone spoke, they held part of the string. By the end, the string showed all the pathways of our conversation, creating a colourful 'talk web' that represented how our ideas linked together. This oracy activity helped us become more confident and thoughtful speakers who can share and build on ideas with others.
