Visit to Newquay Zoo

7th December 2023

Today Year 4 visited Newquay Zoo. We had a brilliant time despite the weather being a little damp. We have been learning about habitats in Science and used this knowledge in our English lessons to write animal profiles. We handed these profiles over to Mark, one of the zoo keepers, and they have been put in a presentation folder at the zoo for all visitors to share. Its wonderful to know our writing has a real audience.
We loved seeing the animals around the zoo, in particular the red panda and penguins, alongside spotting the other animals we had been studying. We had a special session all about penguins when we learnt about the different habitats they live in and their amazing feathers.
A massive thank you goes to the PTFA for funding our coach and the Zoo for being free for schools this year. This enrichment activity really brings learning 'alive' for the children.
