Spring 1 Science - Space

This half term the children in Class 5 learnt how to use models as representations of the Solar System and planets. It is important the children recognise that models can be used to visualise concepts that are difficult to understand, as well as highlighting their advantages and disadvantages.

We lined up in height order to conceptualise why scientists use different size models for planets.

Class 5 continued to further their understanding of the Solar System. They did this by using knowledge from the previous step in their learning to create their own models of the Solar System. I was really impressed with their creativity!
