SCARF day 2026

Year 1 had a wonderful time celebrating Children’s Mental Health Week by taking part in Scarf Day. We talked about how a scarf can represent warmth, comfort, and the people and places that help us feel safe and supported.

We also shared the beautiful book Here We Are by Oliver Jeffers, which helped us think about our place in the world and the importance of kindness, belonging, and looking after one another.

Inspired by these ideas, the children designed their own scarves filled with colours, patterns, and symbols that represent who they are. Each scarf showed something special—things that are important to us, things we are proud of, and the people and communities that give us a sense of belonging.

It was a joyful, creative way to explore wellbeing and celebrate everything that makes us unique.
