Online Safety Day - 10th February 2026

For Online Safety Day, Year F went on an exciting adventure with Smartie the Penguin!
We read the story The Adventures of Smartie the Penguin, where Smartie receives a brand-new tablet for his birthday. He can’t wait to explore—but things don’t quite go to plan…

First, Smartie accidentally came across a scary picture while searching for a whale. Then he found some confusing information that claimed polar bears live on the beach! And finally, while playing a game, a stranger popped up asking Smartie for his name and where he lived.

But Smartie didn’t panic—he remembered the important song his mum taught him:

“Before you tap and click,
stop and think,
and tell someone!”

Each time, Smartie went to his mum and dad, who helped him stay safe online.

After the story, we all drew our own pictures of Smartie the Penguin and wrote brilliant sentences to go with them. Year F showed they are Compassionate Citizens, Brilliant Bookworms, and truly Wow Writers!
