Firework Safety and Natural sparklers - 6th November 2026

This week, Class F/1 enjoyed learning all about firework safety. We talked about how to stay safe around fireworks and discussed the important rules that help keep us and our families safe during firework celebrations. The children shared their own experiences and demonstrated excellent listening and understanding.

To continue our learning outdoors, we went on an autumn walk around the school grounds. We carefully collected some beautiful autumn leaves, noticing their different colours, shapes and textures. Using skewers, we created our own natural sparklers by threading the leaves onto them. Throughout the activity, the children showed fantastic listening skills, followed instructions carefully and handled the equipment safely.

It was wonderful to see the children exploring nature, developing their fine motor skills and celebrating the beautiful colours of autumn. We were all very proud of how sensible and responsible they were while working together outside.

Well done, Class F/1, for being safe, creative and respectful learners!
