Summer 2026 Pupil Voice

Pupil Voice Loud and Clear at St Stephens Community Academy. We were delighted to welcome back Mrs Brewer, who many will remember from her time at An Daras. Mrs Brewer is now studying at UCL and returned to work with us as part of her research into children’s self-confidence and social skills.
During her visit, our Year 6 pupils took part in thoughtful discussions, reflecting on how their time at school has shaped their personal development and relationships with others. It was incredibly impressive to hear them articulate their experiences so clearly, sharing the many ways in which they have grown, both as individuals and as members of our school community.
The children spoke confidently about what they have learned about themselves, how they collaborate with others, and how school has supported them in developing resilience, respect and self-awareness. Their maturity and honesty were a real credit to them.
Mrs Brewer was particularly struck by the pupils’ politeness, engagement and the depth of their contributions. She described the experience as both insightful and inspiring, highlighting the strong values evident across the school.
We are very much looking forward to welcoming Mrs Brewer back in July, when Year 6 will take on a leadership role in delivering a whole-school survey. This will allow us to explore further how pupils across all year groups view their own development and experiences within the school.
A huge well done to our Year 6 pupils for representing themselves and the school so brilliantly.
