This term our science is focussing on ‘Living things and their habitats’. We have been exploring our school grounds to see what minibeasts we could find before delving deeper into what their habitats are like. The children were excited to find caterpillars and centipedes and could describe the conditions that these minibeasts needed to live in the habitats they were found in.
We’ve also been understanding what it means to classify using classification keys. We put our classification skills to the test with some sweets as well as classifying ourselves on the playground.
We will now become real scientists by using these new skills to classify animals based on their characteristics, habitats and diets.
