Fantastic Community Art Installation

20th May 2025

What a Fantastic Community Day in Launceston!
A huge well done to our brilliant Year 5 pupils, who were specially commissioned by Launceston Town Council to create artwork celebrating our town and what it means to them. Their beautiful, bold paintings—filled with pride, colour, and community spirit—are now proudly displayed at the Ridgegrove bus shelter, and they look absolutely incredible!
It was so special to see the children’s reactions as their artwork was unveiled—they couldn’t believe the size and scale of their final pieces. This project was all about Launceston and Cornwall and the things that matter most to our young people, and they truly captured the heart of our community.
But that wasn’t all! The day was filled with amazing efforts:
A brand-new bench is being installed,
Pupils, Town Councillors, council staff, and local residents joined forces for a litter pick,
And Cormac has been hard at work clearing weeds and tidying up the estate.
Launceston Town Council shared their thanks and appreciation for everyone involved—especially the children—for making this such a meaningful and positive day for the town.
A big thank you to everyone who came together to support and improve our community. We’re so proud of our pupils and grateful for the partnership with the Council to make this happen!
We were also so delighted to receive the following message sent to us by Helen (Responsible Financial Officer and Deputy Town Clerk Launceston):
“The children were a true credit to the school, you should be very proud of them. They were really well behaved, had some fantastic questions and feedback and just generally a delight. “
